Oligofructose-enriched inulin (Synergy 1) lowered fecal calprotectin over four weeks in an acute-UC pilot and was well tolerated; a 2023 Cochrane review finds the prebiotic evidence in UC still thin. Gas is the limiting side effect; start low.
