Alpha-lipoic acid
A mitochondrial antioxidant that regenerates glutathione and vitamins C and E. Case-level IBD data only; deep evidence in diabetic neuropathy. Also present in the O.N.E. multivitamin.
Andrew's notes
Alpha-lipoic acid is generally better tolerated than glutathione in my experience, and it is a great antioxidant in its own right: it regenerates glutathione and vitamins C and E and works inside the mitochondria. It is already present in the O.N.E. multivitamin at a small dose, so check before doubling up. I think of it as a supporting player rather than a lead.
